I know that I have shared here before about my keto weight loss journey. And yes, keto definitely worked for me!
Following this low-carb way of eating, along with intermittent fasting, helped me lose 40 pounds. That was a miracle, an answer to a prayer of desperation, for me because I had tried so hard for so many years to lose weight.
I had tried low-fat, low-calorie, weight loss medication, and even a medically supervised liquid diet. I’m sure there are many women who have had the same experience as I did. When you really want something, you will try everything you can find to help you get it.
My extra weight, I felt, was a hindrance to so many things I wanted to do in life. I felt self-conscious and decided to remain shy and quiet. Never did I not want to stand out and call attention to myself ever!
Now, I know that the feeling of failure had really nothing to do with my weight. It was due to other things and I’ve had to deal with those issues too.
But, losing weight has caused me to step out of my comfort zone and share my experience. It has also provided me with the confidence to evangelize, encourage, teach, and speak to others as I feel we are all called to do.
Prior to this, I was using my weight, my low energy, and low self-esteem as an excuse not to step out and do what God has called me to do.

I wanted so desperately to live my life giving Glory to God in everything I did. But, I was letting my health issues and my weight hold me back. And I have come to realize that what we decide to put into our bodies should be done with the intention to Glorify Him, it is necessary.
Necessary to do it well so that we are able then to physically glorify him with our voices, bodies, and lives. It is all connected.
Now – My Keto Weight loss
God used people in my life to introduce a keto weight loss lifestyle to me. I started to research and took action.
When I started to limit my carbs in a very intentional way, I began to experience a clearer mind, more energy, less ‘brain fog’, significant weight loss, and motivation to get busy. This is what happened to me!
And it began to move my life in a very motivating cycle. Eating real low-carb food, adjusting my eating times, & doing some basic exercise was all it took. These actions caused me to lose a large amount of weight and heal my health issues – all by changing what and when I ate. This was seriously life-changing!
Now What?
Now, it has been 3 1/2 years since I began my keto weight loss journey. I have continued to gain many benefits and have experienced my body’s internal and external healing.
But, as with us as humans along any journey we take, things change.
I started to realize that I had come to the point where the keto weight loss journey I was on was not working as well as it did at first. Yes, I was still healthier than I had ever been before, but I had some health issues that I really wanted to heal and address.
I have spent hours of reading books and listening to many podcasts. With this, I have learned so much and have come to realize that I am probably one of those people who are extremely sensitive, even to a small intake of carbohydrates and plant-based foods.
So, with much thought and prayer, I have come to the conclusion that I really need to reduce the number of carbs, artificial sweeteners, and plant-based foods I have been allowing to remain in my diet. I am going to try an ancestral way of eating. It makes sense to me at this point, so we will see how this goes.
Disclaimer:
I am not a doctor. And what I will share here is my personal experience. Here I just want to share my own experience in the hopes it may help someone else who is struggling with digestive issues, inflammation, and/or trying to lose weight.
I have never felt better. Three weeks ago I began following a zero-carb diet. I have lost weight and I have increased energy and clarity all over again. My body really needed this change, and I am so excited to see where it continues to heal me.
By sharing what I learn along the way I am hoping to help others. Make sure you subscribe so you can follow along ๐
