Intermittent Fasting has become so popular in the last few years. It was exactly six years ago that I first started to use intermittent fasting as a tool for weight loss and to improve my health.
The question is, should you try intermittent fasting? And how do you add it to your life? Here in this post, I will outline the benefits of IF, how intermittent fasting can work in your everyday life, and a lot more. So, grab a glass of water and relax as you learn all you need to know to make an informed decision as to whether this could be for you!!
How Does Intermittent Fasting Work?
Intermittent fasting is an eating plan that switches between fasting and eating on a regular schedule. Research shows that intermittent fasting is a way to manage your weight and prevent β or even reverse β some forms of disease.

There are many different schedules that are used as an intermittent fasting schedule. 16/8 is the most common. This is where a person will fast for 16 hours and then eat during an 8 hour ‘eating window’. I like the fact that you can try different schedules and then pick one that works for you.
Some people get nervous about not eating. Intermittent fasting is not about that, it’s about when and how long you consume calories within a 24 hour period.
Why Intermittent Fasting
There are so many benefits that come from fasting. Studies have shown to reduce inflammation, help balance hormones, provide cell regeneration and repair, lower insulin levels, and so much more!
You also receive many effects such as increased focus, fat loss, better appetite control, and mental clarity. This is due to the body creating and using Ketones for fuel.
Roadblocks
The problem is that in order to get into ketosis – producing ketones and using them for fuel – you have to meticulously follow a ketogenic diet. This includes tracking your food & macros to make sure you are keeping your carbs very low. Needless to say this can seem and be near impossible to accomplish.
Ketosis is a metabolic state that occurs when your body burns fat for energy instead of glucose.
Because of the food we eat and the number of times throughout the day we consume it, our insulin doesn’t fall low enough to start to develop ketones in our blood. Ketosis comes from having a diet very low in carbohydrates. And fasting is the fastest way to get you body to begin producing and using ketones for fuel.
When I first began to intermittent fast, I had to do a ton of research. I listened to podcasts, watched YouTube videos by Doctors, and read many books. I discovered a couple of experts that I followed religiously. I learned plenty and continue to learn so much!
The problem was, I was doing it all alone. I sort of felt isolated. No one around me understood why I was fasting or that it was good for my health. Community was definitely something I was missing.
I did however, lose weight and felt so good. In addition, I also experienced mental clarity, increased focus, and my ‘brain fog’ quickly cleared. I had more energy than I did in my teen years or in my twenty’s.
What Happened Next..
Intermittent fasting along with a low-carb lifestyle has helped me maintain my weight loss of 40 pounds. It has helped me heal and improve my health in so many ways.
I have gained confidence, grown spiritually, and a gained the desire to be better in every area of my life!
I love IF and will seriously continue to do it forever!
How Ketones Have Helped My IF

In September, I began to feel like I needed more. I was beginning to have to take naps again and I could see that some days my energy was not as high as it had been. And energy is what I desire most.
I heard from a friend about ketones and how they gave her energy, mental clarity, focus, and kept her from having to take naps. Duh, I ordered and began to drink them.
Finally I found a tool that has made Intermittent Fasting SO much easier. I began drinking ketones everyday back in September 2022 and have not even considered stopping…I just feel too good!
In addition to the brain benefits, I also experience appetite control, fat loss, better digestion, and better sleep!
I decided then that I would sign up as a promoter for Pruvit – the creator of Keto/OS Nat – the ketones I mix up everyday and drink. I just wanted the ability to better share this amazing drink with my family, friends, and join a like-minded community.
Making the Transition To The Fasting Lifestyle A LOT Easier
Recently, like just this month, Pruvit introduced a new 5 day intermittent fasting kit called I-FAST. This is such a game changer for anyone beginning, or restarting, the transition into the fasting lifestyle.
It includes everything you need to ensure the easiest and most successful transition into intermittent fasting. All without experiencing hunger or having to make a lot of decisions on what or when to eat.

Plus, with the kit you get community, a private FaceBook group, education, & ongoing support. All the things I would have loved to have back when I began in 2017!
Seriously, though…after utilizing this kit for the last 5 days, I have to say it is literally going to change so many lives for the better and I am so blessed to be part of it.

Conclusion
So, intermittent fasting is a healthy lifestyle with the side effect of weight loss, as Gin Stephens says. It has so many benefits.
Can Intermittent fasting be learned and done without the I-FAST kit or other supplements? Yes – I absolutely did it that way.
But, I feel compelled to let everyone know that there is a scientifically formulated system, this kit, that can help the transition be easier offer better support. It’s a tool and I love effective tools & strategies that make life easier.
If you are interested in learning more about the 5 day I-Fast system, just leave a comment below and I will get you the info. Or simply ask any questions below, I would be happy to answer them! π

Great article! Very informative on intermittent fasting. Itβs definitely easier when there is a group of people doing it with you. Also it provides an opportunity to offer up your fast for a particular intention!
